Software Simulation
ABOUT:
The company was in the process of implementing a new point of sale and inventory management system for our retail stores. I was tasked with creating training to teach store management how to use the new system.

Restraints: No budget for training, software still in QA, Bugs still present, launch for stores behind schedule, processes not documented.

Solution: I met with SME's from multiple departments to document best practices and created ten modules based on the ten most important tasks for managers. Each module contains a video demonstration, followed by a practice simulation, and short knowledge check.

Product Training
ABOUT:
Prior to launching this training, employees were learning about different product groups by reading text-heavy PDF's and using the honor system to mark themselves complete in our learning management system.

Restraints: No budget, should be completed in under 10 minutes.

Solution: Re-design the PDF content in a SCORM compliant course. Create separate modules for each product group that can be completed in 5 minutes with optional learning activities to help learners retain the information. Our product training is now interactive, and aesthetically engaging.

Anti-Harassment
ABOUT:
In 2018 California enacted a law requiring companies to provide teammates with Anti-harassment training. Prior to creating this training with Legal dept. SME we had purchased a 30 minute training from a vendor that received less than stellar reviews from our learners. Our goal when creating the 1 and 2 hour versions was to create an engaging training that held our viewers attention.

Restraints: No budget, 1 hour minimum for teammates, 2 hour minimum for managers, CA required

Solution: Work with the Legal team as SME's to create an engaging training that felt on-brand and thoughtful. The training contained multiple modules that covered all the required topics in a refreshing way. I created multiple scenarios using familiar places around the office, flip card interactions, sceanrio based quizzes, and clips from popular tv shows and movies.

ABOUT:
Our Launch Operations technicians needed a sustainable training for new hires that covered company specific processes and protocols. Training would be required for new launch ops technicians before they were allowed to work on the hammerhead.

Support Portal Training
The company's workflow for reporting incidents and requesting hardware/software had changed following an update to our Tech Support Portal.

The training was used to reinforce existing processes, and train employees on new functionalities of the self service portal.

The learning department launched a sales curriculum, and since then, managers have been requesting follow-up training scenarios to help employees remember the sales steps, and apply them on the sales floor.

Restraints: No budget, No longer than 5 min, short deadline (1 month for 5 scenarios).

Solution: Five short scenario-based modules, that present the Big 5 Sales Steps in real-life situations. To be assigned automatically upon completion of the sales curriculum. These courses follow a storytelling model, and my inspiration for the design was graphic novels and cartoons. Learners watch the scene unfold and answer questions when prompted. Feedback is given for wrong answers.
